Privacy

These are general terms written in plain language. They are not legal advice.

  • Chats, memory, settings and commands stay on your computer.
  • The server keeps only your account (e-mail and name), your computers and usage counters.
  • Request text and screenshots pass through our server to the AI model only to get an answer and are not stored by us.
  • We don’t sell data, show ads or put tracking analytics on the site.

1.What stays on your computer

Chat history, memory about you, settings, commands, Screen answer history and app logs live in the Astra folder in your Windows profile. Speech recognition and the wake word run on your computer — voice recordings are not sent anywhere. You can delete all of it in the app or by uninstalling it. Memory switches off with one toggle.

2.What is stored on the server

  • Account: e-mail, name (for Google sign-in — your name and Google account ID), creation and last sign-in dates, plan.
  • Computers: a random device ID, app and Windows versions, country (derived from the IP address), last activity time and the date it was linked to your account. We don’t store the IP address itself — only an irreversible fingerprint of it to prevent abuse.
  • Daily usage counters: how many requests and credits were used, how many tokens and what they cost — without the text of requests or answers.
  • Sign-in codes: only in hashed form, for 10 minutes.

3.AI requests and screenshots

When you ask Astra something, the message text (and in Screen mode, a capture of the selected area) goes to our server and from there to the DeepSeek AI model to get an answer. Our server does not store the content of requests or answers. DeepSeek processes them under its own privacy policy; its servers may be located in another country, including China. Don’t send passwords, card details or other sensitive information to Astra.

4.Other services

  • Voice: for natural online voices, the answer text is sent to Microsoft’s speech synthesis service; offline, the voice is generated on your computer.
  • Sign-in: Google sign-in shares your e-mail and name with us. Sign-in code e-mails are sent by the Resend e-mail service.
  • Payments: the subscription will be sold by a payment provider (Stripe is planned). Card details are entered on its side — we never see or store them; we only receive the subscription status.
  • Widgets: weather, exchange rates and similar data are loaded from public sources directly from your computer.
  • Hosting: the site and server run on Cloudflare, which processes technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver content and protect against attacks.

5.Website and cookies

The site has no ads and no analytics. The only cookie is astra_web: it keeps you signed in to your account and lasts 30 days or until you sign out. The theme you pick on the site is stored in your browser (localStorage) and is not sent anywhere.

6.How long we keep data

Your account and computer list — as long as the account exists. Daily usage counters — about 120 days, then they are deleted. Sign-in codes — 10 minutes.

7.Your rights

You can ask what data we keep about you, correct it, get a copy or delete your account — write to support from the e-mail linked to your account. You can unlink computers yourself in your account. If you believe we violated your rights, you can contact the data protection authority in your country.

We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising.

8.Children

Astra is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9.Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page and announce significant changes in advance.
